I grew up on a farm in west central Minnesota. A great place to be from. It is a beautiful place, many lakes, rivers, trees and farm land. I now live in Minneapolis but visit ‘home’ often. I have many family and friends in the area.
I spent the summers of my youth in far north west North Dakota on my family’s second farm, in the far northwestern corner of North Dakota. We only had a small homestead house with three small rooms downstairs and one room upstairs. No plumbing which meant we hauled water and had an outhouse. Duram wheat was the staple crop in that region. Miles and miles of grain waving in the wind.
I have been playing guitar since high school. I have been in the folk/gospel music genre since college. I have toured the country singing in folk/gospel groups spreading the gospel story. I enjoy writing music to sing with my guitar. I have published song books with songs that speak words expressing feelings of joy, doubt, comfort, and praise. Click here for my song books page. I am in a trio band with two other guys called Rainfall. Visit our website at RainfallMusic.net.
I have been raising Zebra Finches since about 1975. I enjoy the little critters. I breed for rare colors, combining colors to make interesting combinations. Zebra Finches are originally from Australia. I have a website dedicated to Zebra Finches and their care. Stop in for a visit: ZBirds.com
I retired May 1, 2018. So now I spend time with my family and friends. I have five wonderful grandkids. I bought a very small camping trailer. I upgraded it with all the amenities that I wanted. I added a battery so I can have lights, vent fan, inverter, stereo, and a TV. I have a solar panel on the roof so my battery is always ready to go. I built a bed platform, switchable from one to two person, with storage underneath. I have trips planned that will take a long time to complete (planning is so much fun). I am sure I will think of more places to go!
Recently I received my General HAM Radio license. It has been fun talking with friends and learning more and more about HAM radio. I am excited to see what all adventures I can get myself into with radio. Drop me a note at Duane@K0ZEB.net
